Please join us for a master class with internationally renowned pianist and teacher Natalya Antonova on Saturday, February 19th, from 3-5 pm on the stage of the Lawrence Memorial Chapel. Ms. Antonova is currently a tenured professor at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York.
Ms. Antonova started her piano studies at the age of 4 as a protege at the Leningrad Conservatory. At the age of 16 she made her debut with the Leningrad Philarmonic. The same month she graduated from the prestigious Leningrad Conservatory, she accepted an invitation from the Conservatory to become the youngest professor ever appointed in its history. Ten years later, Ms. Antonova accepted a position of Professor of Piano in the Russian Academy of Music in Moscow (formerly the Gnessin Institute of Music). Among her former students are winners of international competitions, successful artists, and teachers all over the world.
Natalya Antonova has given hundreds of concerts, master classes and lectures throughout the world including the Moscow Academy of Music, Paris Conservatory, Budapest Conservatory, Peabody Conservatory, New England Conservatory, Seoul National University, Singapore University, and Taiwan University.
Ms. Antonova has participated in many International Music Festivals in France, Hungary, Germany, South Korea, United States, Russia, etc. She has judged numerous competitions including the Gina Bachauer International Piano Competition, Sibelius International Competition, Hilton Head International Piano Competition, and Moulin-Ande International Competition in France.
On Sunday, February 20th, Ms. Antonova will give a free recital at 5 pm in the Lawrence Memorial Chapel. Both the master class and the recital are free and open to the public.
