One might argue that Santa made an early appearance this season in Texas! Coach Marc Heidorf collected his first win as a collegiate head coach when the Vikings posted a 70-65 non-conference win over a talented University of Dallas team (4-3).

Congratulations to Coach Heidorf and the women’s team! Let’s hope this positive momentum will continue when they return to action in January.

The Lawrence University Men’s Hockey team continued their international swing today in Meribel, France. Meribel is a mountain town at about 5,000 feet. According to a reliable travel site, the number one thing to do in Meribel is to SKI!

The Vikings squared off with the French Frogs and lost by the score of 4-3. I did learn that our head coach has a new appreciation for officiating in the United States! Perhaps he will elaborate in future posts!

Apparently air travel had little impact on the Men’s Hockey Team. After a long flight and minimal sleep, the team opened international competition under the lights against Switzerland Ascsano. Lawrence won the contest 11-0. We wish the team continued success on their trip!
