DUTIES: A. Call Center Operation
Operate the College's multi-line switchboard by answering and directing all incoming calls that are forwarded to the Call Center in a friendly, welcoming manner.
Provide friendly and efficient frontline customer service to external and internal customers by screening and directing requests to the appropriate persons/departments, answering general questions, directing walk-in customers, and providing general information including financial aid, admissions, post secondary course offerings and continuing education offerings.
Maintain an NTC employee phone extension directory, facility directory, and College function directory to be used as a Call Center Resource.
Report technical problems associated with the Call Center including employee voicemail.
Report and handle emergency situations according to district emergency procedures.
Train new employees and work-studies as backup for operation of the College's call center.
Retrieve all call center voicemail messages and e-mail messages, transfer to proper person or if appropriate return the call or respond to the e-mail.
8. Sort and distribute incoming and outgoing mail.
Student Services Administrative Support
Assist Admissions Services in directing inquiries to appropriate admissions staff.
Provide administrative assistant support for admission, records and registration on an as needed basis and that can be performed in concert with Call Center operation.
Do all daily announcements on the public address system. Receive and route student and outside visitors' messages according to procedure - paging, silent message system or physically locating person for emergency reasons.
Provide backup for posting information to the Events Monitor.
Participate in team meetings and professional development activities.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Requirements for this position:
One year of post-secondary education appropriate to the position responsibilities, or equivalent knowledge and skills gained through occupational experience or an equivalent combination of post-secondary education and occupational experience.
Must possess strong oral and written communication skills.
Must provide evidence of ability to provide exceptional customer service, and play the role of answer advocate and experience ambassador.
Ability to clearly communicate knowledge of organizational operations, district policies, practices and changes.
Ability to establish and maintain a customer focus while working in a fast paced team environment.
Ability to problem solve, multitask, prioritize, and research answers using available resources.
Demonstrated proficiency in using Internet and Intranet, word processing with keyboarding skills of at least 45 wpm.
Ability to use the College administrative software and operate the College's call center/switchboard.
Must be able to physically tolerate long periods of sitting.
