In Memoriam: Joseph Hopfensperger ’52

Dear Lawrence Family,

I wish to share with you the news that Joseph Allen Hopfensperger ‘52 passed away on July 12.  Joe was a long-time contributor to Lawrence and to the Appleton community. In his many years of connection with Lawrence, Joe served as director of industrial placement, director of the radio station, professor of theatre and drama, administrative assistant to the president, resident director of Björklunden, honorary degree recipient, convocation lecturer and more. Joe’s obituary can be found here—it shares more details about his extraordinary life, which has so enriched our collective life.

Over the more than 70 years of Joe’s connection with Lawrence, many have arrived and scattered to places across the globe. Yet having touched, our lives are linked together.
