Absentee Voting Information

Good afternoon students-

A few of you have reached out today with questions about requesting an absentee ballot if you are registered to vote in Wisconsin.  The deadline to request an absentee ballot was recently extended and closes at 5pm TODAY, April 3rd.

To request an absentee ballot for the April 7th election, the Appleton City Clerk’s office recommends that you directly email electionclerk@appleton.org to request your ballot.  You will need to tell the clerk’s office where you would like the ballot sent and will need to attach a copy of an appropriate form of voter ID to your email request.

A note on Voter IDs

Wisconsin law currently requires you to have a voter ID on election day in order to cast a ballot. A Wisconsin driver’s license, U.S. passport, or military ID is acceptable. Your standard Lawrence student ID does not meet the voter identification specifications.  If you have previously acquired a LU voter ID (this would look like you standard ID card but will have expirations dates on it) you can use this as your identification as long as it is not past the expiration dates.
