Study in Dakar, Senegal Spring 2025 – Applications Due April 1

Off-Campus Programs will be accepting applications for the Francophone Seminar in Dakar, Senegal, through April 1. For more information on how to apply, go to our Applications and Deadlines page.

The Senegal program is open to all students who will have completed French 202, or the equivalent, by the start of the program. You do not need to be a French major to apply.

On this program, students will travel to Dakar, Senegal, with Assistant Professor of French and Francophone Studies Sarah Gamalinda and spend the entire term immersed in French language and Senegalese culture. London Centre Applications Due Feb. 20

If you are planning to apply to the London Centre for any term next year, please submit your application no later than Tuesday, Feb. 20. Students should submit their applications even if their recommendations have not been finalized.

Off-Campus Programs Tabling

Northern Ireland and Oxford

Wednesday, February 21 | 11 a.m.-1 p.m.

Program provider Arcadia Abroad will be tabling on campus, providing information and answering questions about their Northern Ireland – Conflict, Peace, and Transition and Oxford programs. They will be tabling outside the Commons.

In the Northern Ireland program, students examine the work of justice, reconciliation, and repair through the lens of the Northern Ireland conflict. While living in Derry-Londonderry, students will take classes and participate in a seven-week-long internship.

Chicago Center – Urban Student Teaching Program

Thursday, February 22 | 11 a.m.-1 p.m.

If student teaching will be in your future, consider the Chicago Center’s Urban Student Teaching Program. With this program, students will complete their student teaching practicum and seminar in the culturally diverse urban Chicago environment. Placements are made in both public and private central-city Chicago schools. To learn more, stop outside the Commons in Warch to talk to a Chicago Center representative.

Winter Term All Staff Meeting February 27

Join us for the Winter Term All-Staff Meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 27, from 10:30 a.m. – 12 p.m. in the Warch Campus Center Pusey Room!

Updates will be shared by faculty and staff from across campus. There will also be time at the end to ask questions.

New Study Abroad Program Approved

Off-Campus Programs is excited to announce the approval of our latest study abroad program: IES Nagoya, Japan.

The IES Nagoya, Japan program offers a direct enrollment opportunity through Nanzan University’s Center for Japanese Studies, where students will choose between a Modern Japanese track or an Intensive Japanese track. Aside from language study, both tracks also offer students English-taught area studies courses, elective arts classes, and Japanese-taught seminar courses. Advanced-level Japanese language courses are available.

Off-Campus Programs Deadline Extended to February 5

If you are thinking about study abroad for next year, there is still time to apply! Off-Campus Programs has extended its deadline for affiliated program applications until February 5.

For a list of affiliated programs, please go to our Approved Programs list.

The deadline for London Centre and the Francophone Seminar in Dakar, Senegal programs remains February 20 and April 1, respectively.

New York Arts Program Info Session

A representative from the New York Arts Program, our newest off-campus program opportunity, will be on campus Thursday, January 18, to introduce their program and answer your questions.

An info session will be held in Wriston Art Center Auditorium (Room 224) at 12:30 p.m. All are welcome to attend!

The New York Arts Program allows students of the visual arts, art history, performing arts, film and media studies, dance, music and more to spend a term in New York City living, working, and creating. On this program, students earn college credit through internships and seminar classes. This is a great opportunity for students to learn how to make a living form their art and make connections in the art world!
