Register to vote: Here’s how to do it on campus

The Center for Community Engagement & Social Change and the City Clerk of Appleton have partnered to provide three on-campus voter registration opportunities in advance of the Nov. 8 election.

Location: Mead Witter Room, Warch Campus Center

Tuesday, September 27 – 9am-1pm

Wednesday, September 28 – 1pm-5pm

Monday, October 3 – 10am-1pm

Election Transportation:

Get a ride to the polls! On Election Day (Tuesday, November 8) there will be shuttles going to our polling location from 7am to 8pm! Shuttles will be leaving from Wriston Turnaround all day long!

If you are interested in being a paid shuttle driver, please email the CCE (community.engagement@lawrence.edu).

Planning to get there on your own? Our polling location is St. Joseph’s Parish (404 W. Lawrence St., Appleton, WI 54911).

Student Engagement Fair set for Friday in Warch

Student Engagement Fair is set for Friday, Sept. 16 in Warch Campus Center.

The Student Engagement Fair encompasses both the Community Engagement Fair and the Student Organization Fair. The event is open to all student organizations and offers students the time to explore all the community engagement opportunities and student organizations that Lawrence has to offer.

The Community Engagement Fair runs from 5 to 7 p.m. on the 2nd floor of the Warch Campus Center (WCC) in the Esch Hurvis room. The Student Org Fair runs from 6 to 8 p.m. on the 3rd floor of the WCC in the Somerset room.

LU Community Kickoff on Saturday! 

All are welcome to attend! Let’s celebrate the start of the academic year. Join us on Saturday at the Banta Bowl! Soccer, football, and fireworks on Roberts Field at Banta Bowl. And plenty of food.

Men’s soccer game: Noon to 2 pm

Food: 4:30-6:30 pm

Football game: 6 pm 

Fireworks: 9 pm

Shuttles available at the Wriston Turnaround starting at 4:15 pm.

LU Thrift Store open in Colman Hall

The LU Thrift Store is open and will remain open through the academic year in its new location in Colman Hall.

You can find the store in Colman 110 (to the left of the main entrance).

Everything is 100% free to students. It will be open every day during the academic term from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. You can donate clothes or items to the LU Thrift Store year round, however, the donation bins will be located in dormitory lobbies only during Spring Term.

This year the Thrift Store team will start monthly repair workshops where you can bring your ripped shirts, torn coats, etc. and Thrift Store employees will help you mend your clothes.

Off-Campus Programs is looking to fill three student worker positions for the 2022-2023 Academic Year, including: London Centre Student Assistant, Senegal Student Assistant, and Outreach Specialist & Special Projects Assistant. Student Food Pantry Summer Hours

The Student Food Pantry is open during the summer daily 10 AM-10 PM with ID access. The Pantry is a free resource available to all students who are in immediate need or do not have access to essential items. The Pantry is replenished every week with non-perishable food items, hygiene products, and basic school supplies as they become available.

Location: Memorial Hall-West Entrance, Main Floor

Do you have a food suggestion you’d like to see in the Pantry, questions, or have an interest in donating? Visit the LU Student Food Pantry Website, we’d love to hear from you!

The Pantry is supported through the generosity of community, local businesses, and personal donations of money and supplies, as well as a small budget provided by Lawrence University. We continue to seek partners on and off campus who are willing to support our students.

Location: Memorial Hall-West entrance, main floor

The Student Food Pantry is available to all students who are in immediate need or do not have access to essential items. Please be conscientious in what you take and how much you take from the space.
