Experiential Learning Funds Available – Apply Now

Are you thinking about summer plans and need funding for a project or internship? If so, we invite to apply now! Read on for details and apply online here.

  • Receive up to $5000 for unpaid (or low-paying) internships or self-designed projects to further your career exploration and career development. If you’re still looking, explore opportunities on Viking Connect, Handshake, or craft your own!
  • Complete an online application here (includes a project description, name of supervisor, intended learning goals, and budget).
  • Apply by April 8, 2022 (priority deadline) and after that applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until May 6, 2022.

Social & Environmental Justice Cohort – Applications Open for Summer 2022!

This celebrated program will return for its second year to provide Lawrentians with the opportunity to explore social and environmental justice impact careers, gain professional experience, and develop as leaders.  

Students will complete a full-time summer internship with an identified social and/or environmental justice impact organization in Milwaukee or Appleton, while participating in regular academic and career reflection with fellow students, Professor Jason Brozek, the Career Center, community leaders, and alumni. Students who apply and are accepted for positions with identified partner organizations will also receive a stipend of $5000 to support wages and housing.

Fall Term Backstage Pass

Join us off-campus on Friday, Oct. 8, 12:30 – 1:40 p.m. as leaders from the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center talk about their roles in the arts, how they got there, and ever-evolving industry trends! For this Fall session, take a peek BEHIND the curtain and learn about stage production and managing the many aspects of performances with Gerald Henley, Director of Theatrical Production and his team. We will also be joined by alum Kristi Ross-Clausen ’85, member of the IATSE Theater Union, and all around theater guru.

Shuttles will be leave the Con Drop Off and go to the PAC at 12:30 p.m. and head back to Lawrence when the program finishes at 1:40 p.m. The formal program will begin promptly at 12:45 p.m. If you are walking or providing your own transportation, please enter at the Valet Entrance and plan to arrive promptly at 12:40 p.m. A variety of sandwiches will be available for lunch. Consulting Wednesdays – Fall Term

Get a sneak-peek into Gary Vaughn’s Inaugural Topics in Consulting Course (IE-295), and a broad look into the world of consulting by joining our Wednesday presentation series focused solely on consulting.  

All presentations will take place on Wednesday mornings from 8:30 – 9:40 a.m. in Briggs 223 or join via zoom. These sessions are open to all class years and majors.

Secrets of Career Success Series

Join the Career Center, faculty, alumni, and guest speakers this Fall as we pull back the curtain of career success! The September 30th kick off event, from 5 – 7 p.m. CDT, in the Warch Campus Center will begin with a welcome address by President Laurie Carter and then feature Ted Fleming, renowned author of Develop and Head of Talent Development at CVS Health, and Dr. Greta Raaen Dzieciaszek ‘05, who will guide you through building a network for career success. Watson Fellowship Info Session

Are you interested in learning about one of the coolest fellowships ever offered? That would be the Watson Fellowship. Join Brian Pertl, Dean of the Conservatory of Music, on Tuesday, Aug. 3 at 1pm CDT and hear how a winner receives $36,000 to carry out a one-year independent study of their own design outside the United States.
