Please see our Positive Tests, Quarantine, and Isolation page for detailed information.

Anyone who receives a positive COVID-19 test result through on-campus testing will be notified as soon as possible. Faculty and staff will be asked to isolate at home. Students will be immediately moved to a separate isolation area. In coordination with Appleton Health Department, individuals will be given instructions for isolation, education to protect themselves and others around them, information for what to do if symptomatic, and daily follow-ups. Meals and supplies will be delivered to students daily. All efforts will be made to ensure students stay connected with classes as they are able and receive proper treatment as needed. Persons in isolation will follow protocol guided by CDC to be cleared from isolation.

Close contacts of infected persons, identified through contact tracing, will be required to quarantine for 14 days to monitor for symptoms. Faculty and staff will be asked to do this at home, while students will be moved to a separate quarantine area. In coordination with Appleton Health Department, all will be provided with instructions and education and be monitored daily. Like isolation, students will receive daily meal and supply deliveries while in quarantine.

Lawrence is committed to our community’s mental health and will provide resources for students, faculty, and staff who are required to isolate or quarantine.

Note: Quarantine separates and restricts the movement of people who were exposed to a contagious disease (COVID-19) to see if they become sick. Isolation separates sick people with a contagious disease (COVID-19) from people who are not sick.
