The Lawrence University women’s soccer team got an early goal, but Elmhurst College struck back quickly and went on to a 3-1 nonconference win over the Vikings on Wednesday at Whiting Field West.
Mallory Koula got the scoring started for the Vikings (0-3-0) when she took a pass from Sarah Tiano and lofted a shot perfectly over the keeper’s head for a 1-0 Lawrence lead.
The Bluejays (2-1-0) struck back quickly on Heather DeMoss’ goal at the 17:10 mark to tie it at 1-1. Elmhurst added the first of two goals by Amy Baschen at the 40:58 mark to take a 2-1 lead into the break.
Bashen then scored with less than a minute left to finish the scoring.
