KENOSHA, Wis. — Hayley Cardinal won a pair of titles Saturday to lead the Lawrence University women’s swim team to a second-place finish at the Wisconsin Private College Championships at Carthage College.
Cardinal won the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:09.75 and raced to the title in the 200 breaststroke in 2:32.85. Paced by Cardinal, Lawrence was second in the team standings with 156 points. Carthage won the title with 246.
Paige Witter and Taylor Winter also took home titles for the Lawrence women. Witter won the 200 butterfly in 2:20.68, and Winter was dominant in winning the 1,650 freestyle in 18:17.16.
On the men’s side, senior Charlie Mann picked up a title for the Vikings. Mann raced to victory in the 100 freestyle in 49.47 seconds, edging Carthage’s Erik Pinter by .06 seconds.
The Lawrence men finished fifth in the standings with 54 points. Carthage won the title with 257.
