CLERMONT, Fla. — A four-run fourth inning propelled the Carthage College softball team to a 9-4 nonconference victory Lawrence University on Saturday at the National Training Center.
The Lady Reds led 5-2 and then sealed the win with four runs in the bottom of the fourth. Darian Pelsor and Katie Morman had three hits apiece to pace Carthage (1-0). Pelsor also pitched two hitless innings of relief to pick up the victory.
Anna Wawiorka went 2-for-4 to pace Lawrence (1-2), which was limited to five hits. Katie Schumacher homered and drove in a pair of runs for the Vikings.
Liz Barthels allowed eight hits over the first three innings and took the loss.
