MADISON, Wis. — The Edgewood College men’s tennis team swept the doubles matches and rode that to a 6-3 nonconference win over Lawrence University on Friday.
The Eagles (7-10) led 3-0 after the doubles and then split the singles matches with the Vikings (9-9). Lawrence picked up wins at Nos. 3, 5 and 6 singles.
Brian DeCorte was a 6-3, 6-3 winner over Brian Davenport at No. 3, and both Adam Busch and Izaya Turenne won nail-biters. Busch won a pair of tiebreakers to post a 7-6, 7-6 victory over Jaime Benavides at No. 5, and Turenne topped Brandon Glock 6-3, 2-6, 1-0 with a 10-3 win in the super-tiebreaker at No. 6.
