ROCKFORD, Ill. — Nathan Ley carded a 78 on Thursday to lead the Lawrence University golf team to fourth place after the opening round of the Midwest Conference Championships at Aldeen Golf Club.
Ley is tied for fourth place after shooting the 6-over par round on the par-72 layout at Aldeen.
Lawrence has a team score of 332 and is in fourth place. Carroll University leads the standings at 311.
Lawrence’s Nigel Schuster is tied for 11th at 81, and Anton Olsson (85) and Austin Frank (88) rounded out the scoring for the Vikings on the opening day.
The second round is set for Friday, and the 54-hole tournament concludes on Saturday.
