It is 9th week! Usually a pretty stressful time in the trimester. One more week of classes and then finals! I am actually more excited about winter break. I was just informed by Mrs. Mary Meany at the Career Center that they have an amazing opportunity for me, I will be shadowing Dan Peters who is a Senior Advisor of the Office of the U.S. Executive Directors at the World Bank. This calls for a celebration. I cant wait to go back to the career center next trimester and work with them to find an internship for the summer.
Wish me luck guys, I am super nervous, I hope everything goes well in Washington DC!
While I am busy studying and working I still make sure to attend a couple of campus activities and hang out with my mates. My three best mates on campus are from China, Philippines and India, they love cooking, going to ethnic dinners and when they go home they always bring back traditional home cooked meals. You could say I absolutely love Asian foods. Today we attended the Asia-Awareness (Asia-A) event at the International House. You could make your own sushi, there was no way I was going to pass up on this event! There was nothing else to complement such good food than with some cool Japanese music. The Japanese students we have on campus are here on a Waseda/TSA Program. The program is a study abroad partnership with Waseda University in Tokyo, Japan that welcomes 15-20 students each year to Lawrence University. I love Lawrence for its wonderful diversity!
Other than attending campus events my mates and I just love to hang around campus. We love going through the walking trail behind campus, many art students have their works on display there. Most of the time we just pick a spot, relax and chat. It’s always a great stress reliever to just be with your mates, especially at this time in the trimester.
I will be very busy for the next weeks so I probably won’t be post anything, so for now HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
