Lawrence University women’s soccer standout Sarah Ehlinger has been named to the ESPN Academic All-District 5 Team for the second consecutive year.
Ehlinger (Wauwatosa, Wis./Divine Savior Holy Angels), a senior forward, was a second-team selection. She also was a second-team pick in 2009.
A geology major with a 3.92 grade point average, Ehlinger has earned the maximum of three Academic All-Midwest Conference selections. A member of the Dean’s List at Lawrence, Ehlinger has earned numerous academic honors.
Ehlinger, who was named a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholar for 2011-12, participated in a sustainable development research program in Romania in summer 2009. She then took part in the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History Research Experience in summer 2010.
The Frick-Cherven Fund and Class of 1968 Peace and Social Activism Fund chose Ehlinger to do an independent research project in Sierra Leone.
Ehlinger also won Lawrence’s Tank-Palmquist-Ross Award in Geology, which is given each year to the outstanding geology student in the junior class.
Ehlinger is a three-time All-Midwest Conference selection and one of the top scorers in Lawrence history. Ehlinger has 38 goals, 21 assists and 97 points for her career. She ranks second in career assists and third in goals and points at Lawrence.
