MONMOUTH, Ill. — Colleen Forrest scored a game-high 24 points to lead the Monmouth College women’s basketball team to a 75-39 Midwest Conference victory over Lawrence University on Saturday at Glennie Gymnasium.
Forrest hit a school-record eight 3-pointers for the Scots (8-4, 6-2 MWC).
Nakita Chadwick scored 11 points, grabbed five rebounds, had three blocks and a pair of steals to pace Lawrence (0-13, 0-8). Katie Van Es added eight points and a game-high nine rebounds.
Monmouth took control of the game early by scoring the contest’s first 12 points. Cathy Kaye finally broke the drought for Lawrence with a layup at the 15:23 mark of the first half.
Monmouth kept the pressure up and by more than 20 points with 8:16 left in the first half. Lawrence didn’t reach double figures until Cory Paquette’s jumper made the score 32-11 with 4:50 left in the opening half.
Monmouth led by as many as 31 points in the first half, and the Scots would lead by as many as 43 points in the second half.
