Lawrence University volleyball standout Clare Bohrer has been named the Midwest Conference Offensive Player of the Week.
Bohrer (Eau Claire, Wis./Regis), a senior middle hitter, picked up the honor after leading the Vikings to a 3-2 record on the week. Lawrence recorded a nonconference win over Marian University and then split four matches at the UW-Oshkosh Pizza Hut Classic during a weekend tournament.
Bohrer, who was named to the all-tournament team at UW-Oshkosh, piled up 52 kills on the week and had a .159 hitting percentage. She also had 24 blocks, eight aces and 18 digs.
Bohrer picked up 13 kills, seven blocks, two assists, two aces and two digs in Lawrence’s 20-25, 25-22, 25-17, 25-21 victory over Marian.
After a Lawrence loss to No. 23 University of Chicago to open the UW-Oshkosh Classic, Bohrer had 12 kills, five blocks, five aces and three digs in the Vikings’ 20-25, 24-26, 25-19, 25-21, 15-10 comeback victory against Lakeland College.
Bohrer then had 15 kills, seven blocks and four digs in a five-set loss to UW-Superior before finishing with seven kills, two blocks, three digs and an assist in a 25-22, 25-19, 22-25, 25-15 win over Lake Forest College in the fifth-place match.
Lawrence returns to action on Wednesday when it travels to Mount Mary College for a nonconference match.
