FOND DU LAC, Wis. — The Lawrence University hockey team skated to a 2-2 overtime tie with Marian University for a second consecutive night in a Midwest Collegiate Hockey Association matchup at the Blue Line Ice Center.
Lawrence (3-0-3, 3-0-3 MCHA) led twice, but the Sabres (5-1-2, 4-0-2) answered on both occasions.
Derek Brickan got the scoring started for Lawrence when he lit the lamp off passes from Nate Scurfield and Gustav Lindgren just 2:10 into the contest. Marian answered with a goal at the 14:18 mark to tie it at 1-1.
Lawrence took the lead at the 8:39 mark when Matt Hughes scored off passes from Brad Scurfield and Phil Bushbacher. Marian then scored on the power play at the 8:11 mark of the third period to tie the game at 2-2.
Peter Emery had another solid game in net for the Vikings as he stopped 40 shots to remain unbeaten on the season. Marian had a 42-31 edge in shots.
Lawrence returns to action on Nov. 25-26 when it plays in MCHA/NCHA Thanksgiving Showdown at Marian.
