LAKE FOREST, Ill. — The Lake Forest College women’s basketball team got off to an early lead and pulled away in a 73-48 Midwest Conference victory over Lawrence University on Saturday.
Sam Schuring paced Lake Forest (4-2, 3-0 MWC) with 15 points, and Rose Coll came off the bench to add 12 points.
Chioma Ejimkonye led Lawrence (0-4, 0-2) with 15 points, and Amber Lisowe added 14. Freshman Presley Neuman pulled down a game-high 11 rebounds for the Vikings to go along with nine points.
Lake Forest scored the game’s first six points and had bolted out to a double-digit lead by the 14:30 mark. Lawrence battled back to trim the margin to eight points late in the first half, and Lake Forest forged a 39-26 lead at the break.
Lake Forest went on a 7-0 run midway through the second half to grab a 53-30 lead, and the Vikings couldn’t recover. The Foresters would go on to lead by as many as 27 points, courtesy of a pair of 3-pointers in the final minute.
