Poor shooting dooms Vikings in loss to Carroll

WAUKESHA, Wis. — The Lawrence University women’s basketball team had a rough afternoon shooting the basketball and dropped a 64-33 Midwest Conference game at Carroll University on Saturday.

Lawrence (1-16, 1-11 MWC) hit on only 22.5 percent (9-40) of its shots from the floor. The Vikings were also hit hard by 42 turnovers.

Amber Lisowe was the only Lawrence player to score in double figures with 10 points. Presley Neuman pulled down a game-high eight rebounds for Lawrence.

Janelle Groer scored 23 points to pace Carroll (7-9, 6-5).

The Pioneers went on a 10-1 run midway through the first half to stretch their lead to 23-10. Carroll led 31-17 at the half. Carroll scored the first seven points of the second half, and Lawrence never threatened after that.
