CHICAGO, Ill. — Taylor Winter placed in three events for the Lawrence University women’s swim team, and Peter Brengel led the men’s team at the University of Chicago Invitational this weekend.
The Lawrence women finished sixth in the team standings with 206.5 points, and the Lawrence men were seventh with 194.
Winter swam to third place in the 500-yard freestyle in a time of 5:21.06. She also took fifth in the 1,650 freestyle in 18:17.51 and took sixth in the 200 freestyle in 2:03.00. Hannah Gabriel grabbed fifth in the 200 freestyle in 2:02.51.
Brengel topped the Vikings with a pair of ninth-place finishes. He was ninth in the 100 backstroke in 56.20 seconds and ninth in the 200 backstroke in 2:02.92. Evan Flack turned in a ninth-place finish in the 200 freestyle in 1:50.91.
