MONMOUTH, Ill. — The Monmouth College women’s basketball team scored the game’s first 12 points and never looked back en route to an 85-37 Midwest Conference win over Lawrence University on Saturday at Glennie Gymnasium.
The Scots (15-3, 10-3 MWC) jumped out to a 32-2 lead as Lawrence (1-16, 0-12) went 9:05 in the first half without a point. The Scots led 50-16 at the half.
Marla Willard paced Monmouth with 16 points. Colleen Forrest added 12 points and Paige Nord had 11 for the Scots.
Alex Deshler was the lone player in double figures for the Vikings with 10 points. Amber Lisowe added seven points, six rebounds and three blocks for the Vikings.
The Scots would go on to lead by as many as 50 points in the second half.
