Carthage tops Vikings

KENOSHA, Wis. — The Carthage College women’s tennis team downed Lawrence University 7-2 in a nonconference match on Tuesday.

The Red Men (1-1) started the day by sweeping the three doubles matches and then took four of the six singles matches.

Lawrence (1-2) got a pair of hard-fought singles victories. Hannah Geoffrey won a pair of tiebreakers for a victory over Haleigh McPeek at No. 2. Melissa Heeren dropped the first set at No. 4 but rallied to win the second set and then took the super tiebreaker 10-3 for the victory.
