BELOIT, Wis. — The Beloit College women’s basketball team pulled away midway through the first half and went on to a 79-51 Midwest Conference victory over Lawrence University on Wednesday at Flood Arena.
Lana Wieseman led Beloit with 16 points and eight rebounds, and Lauren McNanna added 14 points for the Bucs (6-14, 6-9 MWC).
Alex Deshler paced Lawrence with 14 points, tied for game-high honors with eight rebounds and handed out a game-high five assists. Kassidy Rinehart added 11 points for the Vikings (3-17, 1-14).
Beloit led 18-12 with 12 minutes left in the first half when the Bucs went on an 11-2 run over the next four minutes to pull out to a 29-14 edge.
The Bucs then put on another short burst at the end of the first half and led 46-25 at the break.
Lawrence whittled the lead back down to 16 points early in the second half, but the Bucs pulled away after that. Beloit would lead by as many as 31 points late in the game.
