APPLETON, Wis. — Heidi Van Sistine was perfect from the floor on Wednesday to lead the St. Norbert College women’s basketball team to a 66-37 Midwest Conference victory over Lawrence University on Wednesday at Alexander Gymnasium.
Van Sistine, a sophomore center, went 8-for-8 from the floor on her way to a game-high 16 points for St. Norbert (15-4, 12-2 MWC). Brianna Byrne came off the bench to add 13 points for the Green Knights and Morgan Heim had 12.
Alex Deshler scored 14 points and pulled down a game-high eight rebounds for Lawrence (3-15, 1-12). Patsy Kealey and Andrea Wilkinson added eight points apiece for the Vikings. Kealey also had five rebounds and a game-high four steals.
St. Norbert, which is tied for first place in the conference, jumped out to a 22-10 lead before the Vikings rallied. Deshler scored six points and Wilkinson added a jumper as part of an 8-0 Lawrence run that trimmed the lead to 22-18.
The Green Knights responded by going on a 17-2 run over the final 7:00 of the first half to stretch the lead to 39-20 at the half.
St. Norbert, which shot 52.9 percent from the floor for the game, then scored the first six points of the second half to pull out to a 45-22 advantage. The Green Knights would go on to lead by as many as 35 points in the second half.
