ROCKFORD, Ill. — The Lawrence University golf team is in fourth place after the opening day of the Midwest Conference Championships on Thursday at Aldeen Golf Club.
Lawrence carded a team score of 335 on the par-72 layout. Carroll University is in first place with a score of 318. The second round is scheduled for Friday and the final round is set for Saturday.
Anton Olsson carded an opening-round 78 to pace the Vikings. Olsson is tied for fourth place, and Carroll’s Cody Neu shot 72 and holds a three-shot lead after the first round.
Nigel Schuster shot 83, Nathan Ley carded an 85 and Tyler Clark had an 89 to round out the scoring for Lawrence.
