Marian rallies to down Vikings in five sets

FOND DU LAC, Wis. — The Marian University volleyball team rallied to win the final two sets for a 3-2 nonconference victory over Lawrence University on Wednesday night.

Marian (2-3) won 12-25, 25-17, 13-25, 25-23, 15-10.

The Sabres pulled out the fourth set after the Vikings (0-5) rallied to tie the score at 23-23. Marian then scored the next two points to pull the match back to even. Marian built a four-point edge in the fifth set, and the Vikings were unable to get closer.

Terese Swords paced Lawrence with 12 kills, and Arianna Cohen added 11. Lauren Ray picked up 16 assists and 18 digs, and Sydney Nelson had 14 assists. Cyra Bammer had a team-high 25 digs for the Vikings.
