WHITEWATER, Wis. — Clare Bruning and the Lawrence relay teams paced the Vikings on Sunday at the Drake Alternative Meet at UW-Whitewater.
Bruning took second in the 5,000 meters in 18:53.71, trailing only former national champion Christy Cazzola. Margaret Huck finished fourth in the event for Lawrence at 19:31.75.
The Vikings also had a strong showing in the 800 meters as Kate Kilgus grabbed third place in 2:27.23 and Noelle Hele took fifth in 2:33.24.
The women’s 400 relay team took second in 55.75 seconds, and the 1,600 relay team was second in 4:25.45.
On the men’s side, Lawrence’s 1,600 relay finished first in 3:40.23, and the 400 relay team was second in 47.15 seconds.
The top individual finisher was Ethan Gniot, who raced to fourth in the 800 in 1:59.91.
