MOUNT VERNON, Iowa — The Cornell College men’s tennis team edged Lawrence University 5-4 in a Midwest Conference match on Saturday.
The match was derailed by lightning in the area that forced it indoors after the doubles competition.
Lawrence was down 2-1 after the doubles and got an 8-6 win at No. 1 from David Jumes and Sotaro Kurahashi. Lawrence picked up three wins in singles as Jumes at No. 1, Adam Busch at No. 5 and Izaya Turenne at No. 6 were all victorious.
