Vikings continue dominance of Ripon on the courts

RIPON, Wis. — The Lawrence University women’s tennis team continued its dominance of rival Ripon College on Thursday with a 6-3 victory over the Red Hawks in the Midwest Conference opener on the Larson Courts.

Lawrence (3-2, 1-0 MWC) has now beaten Ripon (1-3, 0-1) 12 consecutive times, a streak that dates back to 2004.

The Vikings swept the three doubles matches as the teams of Katie Frankel and Lilly Endsley, Lindsay Holsen and Annie Harincar and Elana Lambert and Katie Nottberg all won 8-4.

Frankel, Lawrence’s top singles player, took the rest of the afternoon off, but the Vikings still split the singles matches. Holsen led the way in singles with a 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 2. Lambert was a three-set winner at No. 3 and Shang Li won in straight sets at No. 6.
