APPLETON, Wis. — Andrea Correa scored with 1:14 left in the second overtime Saturday to lift the Monmouth College women’s soccer team to a 1-0 Midwest Conference win over Lawrence University on Ron Roberts Field at the Banta Bowl.
After Lawrence (9-9-0, 4-6-0 MWC) narrowly missed scoring twice in the first overtime, it looked as though the game was going to be a scoreless draw.
With time winding down, Lawrence misplayed a ball in the back, and Correa gained control just inside the penalty box. Her shot got past Lawrence goalkeeper Patsy Kealey for the win.
Kealey finished with seven saves for the Vikings, and Nicole Neagle made eight saves to earn the shutout for the Scots (6-12-0, 5-5-0).
