DE PERE, Wis. — The Lawrence University track team recorded a trio of second-place finishes on Saturday at the St. Norbert College Invitational at Schneider Stadium.
On the men’s side, Lawrence’s Josh Janusiak battled with Lake Forest College’s Jonathan Stern in the 5,000 meters. Stern finished in 15:39.26 to edge Janusiak by less than two seconds. Janusiak finished in 15:41.06.
Lawrence’s Cam Davies also went to the wire with Carroll University’s Kieran DeGroot in the 3,000 steeplechase. DeGroot took the title in 9:38.88, and Davies was right on his heels in second in 9:41.67.
Lawrence’s Dan Sandacz grabbed a third place in the 400 hurdles in 1:00.22, and he took sixth in the 110 hurdles in 16.71 seconds.
The Lawrence men finished seventh with 55 points, and St. Norbert won the title with 145.
Clare Bruning led the Lawrence women as she took second in the 5,000 in 19:03.35 as she was edged by UW-River Falls’ Abigail Fouts in 18:57.37. Lawrence’s Erin Schrobilgen took third in the event in 19:10.48.
Liz Landes posted the other top-three finish for the Lawrence women as she grabbed third in the 10,000 in 42:50.38.
The Lawrence women were eighth with 42 points, and St. Norbert won the team title with 258.
