JACKSONVILLE, Ill. — The Lawrence University women’s tennis team dropped just one set Saturday on its way to a 9-0 Midwest Conference pounding of Illinois College.
Lawrence (3-2, 3-1 MWC) swept the three doubles matches and was led by Alexis Shannon and El Goblirsch, who posted an 8-0 win at No. 3 doubles.
The Vikings picked up three 6-0, 6-0 singles victories as Katie Frankel at No. 1, Lindsay Holsen at No. 2 and Katie Nottberg at No. 6 all won without dropping a game.
Shannon won at No. 3, Goblirsch rallied to win at No. 4 and Alicia Lex was a straight-sets winner at No. 5.
