GALESBURG, Ill. — Alicia Lex’s win at No. 6 singles lifted the Lawrence University women’s tennis team to a 5-4 Midwest Conference victory over Knox College on Friday at the Merdian Courts.
The Vikings led 4-2 in the match when Lex closed out a 6-1, 6-1 victory over Sierra Henry to clinch the victory for Lawrence (1-2, 1-1 MWC). Katie Frankel won 6-1, 6-1 at No. 1 singles, and Lindsay Holsen was a 6-2, 6-0 winner for the Vikings at No. 2.
The Vikings grabbed a 2-1 lead over Knox (2-4, 1-1) after the doubles play. Frankel and Holsen were impressive 8-1 winners at No. 1, and Lex and Annie Harincar picked up an 8-6 victory at No. 2.
