APPLETON, Wis. — The Lawrence University volleyball team dropped the first set Friday but rebounded to defeat Lake Forest College 3-1 in a Midwest Conference match at Alexander Gymnasium.
The Vikings defeated the Foresters 23-25, 25-16, 25-21, 25-15.
Lawrence (9-12, 4-2 MWC), which has now won four straight conference matches, got a superlative performance from Arianna Neumeyer. The sophomore outside hitter racked up a match-high 18 kills to go along with 11 digs and two service aces. Rachel Barthel added nine kills, and Claire Vinpol had seven for Lawrence.
Lauren Ray piled up 23 assists for the Vikings, and Sydney Nelson added 14. Cyra Bammer piled up 15 digs to lead Lawrence.
Paige Jespersen led Lake Forest (5-13, 1-4) with 11 kills, and Lexi Kleva had 35 assists.
