Witter, Charlow both win twice as Lawrence women tie, men fall to UW-Oshkosh

OSHKOSH, Wis. — Lawrence University’s Paige Witter and Travis Charlow both won a pair of individual events Saturday as the Vikings tied and lost at UW-Oshkosh.

Witter won the 100-yard butterfly in 1:02.28 and took the top spot in the 500 freestyle in 5:28.33. The Lawrence women tied UW-Oshkosh 115-115.

Charlow won the 100 freestyle in 51:35 and grabbed first in the 200 freestyle in 1:55.07. Oshkosh edged the Lawrence men 99-83.

Charlow also teamed with Max Stahl, Christian Bell and Tom Goldberg to win the 200 medley relay in 1:43.95. Stahl also won the 100 backstroke in 59.25 seconds. Liam Wulfman was the other winner for the Vikings as he took first in the 200 individual medley in 2:10.43.

Sarah Schweickart and Elise Riggle both won events and swam on a winning relay for the women. Schweickart took first in the 200 IM in 2:23.81, and Riggle won the 1,000 freestyle in 11:35.18. Schweickart and Riggle teamed with Emei Thompson and Bridget Duero to win the 200 freestyle relay in 1:49.64.

Eryn Blagg and Emmi Zheng also picked up wins for the Vikings. Blagg won the 100 freestyle in 56.97 seconds, and Zheng took the top spot in the 100 breaststroke in 1:11.92.
