MONMOUTH, Ill. — The Lawrence University women’s tennis team rolled to a 9-0 Midwest Conference shutout of Monmouth College on Saturday.
Lawrence (2-2, 2-1 MWC) got the match started by dropping just two games total in picking all three doubles victories. El Goblirsch and Alicia Lex posted an 8-0 win for Lawrence at No. 3 doubles.
Goblirsch and Lex were also perfect during singles play as Goblirsch won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 5, and Lex was a 6-0, 6-0 winner at No. 6.
Rookie Alexis Shannon picked up her first two collegiate wins against Monmouth. Shannon teamed with Annie Harincar for an 8-1 win at No. 2 doubles and followed that with a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 4 singles.
