Back to school, Back to reality

Hey guys! First off, Happy New Year, I hope your winter break was great! Winter break in Washington DC was amazing; the political hub of the United States. As I mentioned before, I participated in the Shadow DC program that the LU Career Center organized for winter break. I had the opportunity to work for the U.S. Executive Directors of the World Bank. This opportunity was incredible and helped me figure out exactly what career path I want to take in the future and which internships I will be applying for, for summer break.

Check out the view from my office, amazing!

good good2

I actually missed the majority of the first week of school because of the horrible storm three weeks ago. I was literally stranded in Cleveland Ohio. I had so much catching up to do especially for my Econometrics class and my independent study in Economics. My independent study is about how the game, the Settlers of Catan, relates to international affairs between nations in the world. I am super excited to get the research together. Other than that Geology and Literature in Human Rights have been going smoothly. I am not really good with the sciences so I figured Geology would be easy-peasy, well I had a reality check, there is more to Geology than drawing rocks.

My extra-curricular activities are going well. I am disappointed that I will not be attending the University of California-Berkley MUN, I have so much going on now that I am overloading, I have three jobs and now I am a member of the Social Welfare Committee of the Lawrence University Community Council (LUCC).

All in all, despite the weather this trimester is great. My friends and I are hoping to get on the list to go skiing with the Outdoor Recreational Club (ORC). It is so competitive to get on their list and I hear so many great things about the trips, so we are all anxious to get the opportunity to get out there. In the mean time we are just getting together and hanging out.IMG_20140111_125515[1]

Well that is that from me yall, till next time!
