Lawrence men’s, women’s track honored as Scholar Teams

The Lawrence University men’s and women’s track teams have been named Scholar Teams by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

The Lawrence women’s team compiled a 3.35 team grade point average, and the men’s team had a 3.27 team grade point average.

The Lawrence women were one of 106 teams that were honored. Teams needed at least a 3.10 grade point average. Lawrence was one of four teams from the Midwest Conference to be honored, and the Vikings had the second-highest grade point average among teams in the league.

The Lawrence women had 10 Academic All-Midwest Conference selections for the indoor and outdoor track seasons.

The Lawrence men were one of three Midwest Conference teams to make the grade. The Vikings compiled the highest team grade point average among conference teams and were among 68 teams across the nation to be honored.

The Lawrence men had 14 Academic All-Midwest Conference selections for indoor and outdoor track combined.

Both the Lawrence men’s and women’s cross country teams were honored as USTFCCCA Scholar Teams in fall 2009.
