The Lawrence University volleyball team posted a 1-2 record on Saturday at the Lawrence Quadrangular inside Alexander Gymnasium.
The Vikings defeated Alverno College 3-0 (25-20, 25-19, 25-17). Lawrence dropped a 3-1 decision to Edgewood College by the scores of 25-19, 23-25, 28-26, 25-18. Cardinal Stritch University topped the Vikings 3-0 (25-19, 25-19, 27-25).
In the other matches on Saturday, Cardinal Stritch defeated Alverno 3-0 (25-16, 25-19, 25-10), Edgewood defeated Alverno 3-0 (25-11, 25-18, 25-14) and Edgewood defeated Cardinal Stritch 3-1 (25-22, 14-25, 25-22, 25-18).
Freshman Betsy Sorensen paced the Vikings on the day with 31 kills and a .280 hitting percentage. Shannon McLain added 25 kills, and Presley Neuman had 18. Both Sorensen and Neuman had a team-high 10 blocks apiece.
Setter Diane McLeod piled up 110 assists and picked up 29 digs, five kills and four aces on the day. Libero Kathleen Rowland paced Lawrence with 62 digs.
