North Park pulls away from Lawrence

FORT MYERS, Fla. — The North Park University baseball team built an early lead and went on to a 9-2 nonconference victory over Lawrence University on Saturday.

North Park, which collected 10 hits, scored three times in the first inning and built a 7-1 advantage after five frames. Lawrence scored single runs in the the fourth and sixth innings.

Lawrence, which was limited to five hits, was led by sophomore Sam Kossow, who went 2-for-4.

Paul Garcia pitched eight innings and picked up the win for North Park. Freshman Kelton Jenkins pitched the first three innings and took the loss for Lawrence (0-3).
