MONMOUTH, Ill. — The Lawrence University men’s track was eighth and the women finished ninth as the Midwest Conference Championships wrapped up Saturday at Monmouth College.
The Lawrence men finished with 30 points, and the women had 18.
The top finisher on Saturday was the men’s distance medley relay team, which took second. The team of Dan Thoresen, Tyler Herman, Mike Mangian and Sam Stevens posted a time of 10:49.84.
Stevens also added his second third-place finish of the meet by taking third in the 3,000 in 8:55.05. Freshman JP Ranumas raced to fourth place in the 60-meter hurdles in 9.10 seconds.
On the women’s side, freshman Genna Matt broke the school record in the weight throw with a toss of 38 feet, 2.25 inches.
