APPLETON, Wis. — The Lawrence University swim teams opened their season on Saturday by splitting a dual meet with Midwest Conference foe Beloit College.
The Lawrence women routed the Bucs 143-54, and the Beloit men edged the Vikings 87-77.
Taylor Winter, Hayley Cardinal and Paige Witter all won two individual events for the Lawrence women. Winter took the mixed 1,000-yard freestyle in 11:21.67 and the 500 freestyle in 5:32.44. Witter won the 200 freestyle in 2:05.00 and the 100 butterfly in 1:03.56. Cardinal won the 200 individual medley in 2:24.94 and took the 100 breaststroke in 1:10.78.
On the men’s side, Evan Flack won both the 200 freestyle (1:56.04) and the 100 freestyle (51.32).
