APPLETON, Wis. — The Luther College women’s soccer team slipped past Lawrence University 1-0 on Friday in a nonconference game at Whiting Field West.
The game’s only goal came on a free kick with less than two minutes left in the first half.
Erin Wilson scored on the free kick from about 25 yards out at the 43:18 mark. Lawrence was still setting up its defense when Wilson took the kick and tucked it into the upper corner of the net.
Luther enjoyed a 16-5 advantage in shots, and Dani Glass made 10 saves for Lawrence (0-1-0). Molly Hilgart stopped two shots to pick up the shutout for the Norse (1-0-0).
