APPLETON, Wis. — Lawrence University cross country standout Max Edwards has been named the Midwest Conference Performer of the Week.
Edwards (Appleton, Wis./North) posted the best finish of his Lawrence career as he took second at Lawrence’s Gene Davis Invitational this past Saturday. Edwards covered the 8,000-meter course at Reid Municipal Golf Course in 26:42.36 on a cold and rainy morning.
This is the first weekly conference honor for Edwards, who joined the squad this season. Led by Edwards, Lawrence placed third in the team standings with 80 points and trailed only UW-Stevens Point (46) and UW-Oshkosh (78).
Lawrence returns to action on Oct. 18 when it travels to Lake Breeze Golf Club in Winneconne to compete in the UW-Oshkosh Brooks Invitational.
