APPLETON, Wis. — Keli Muchowski scored a pair of goals Sunday to lead the Lawrence University women’s soccer team to a 2-0 Midwest Conference victory over Knox College at Whiting Field West.
Muchowski got the Vikings (3-5-2, 1-1-2 MWC) on the board at the 35:51 mark when she took a pass from Casey Merkle and beat Knox goalkeeper Theresa Birzer. Lawrence held that one-goal advantage until the 77th minute when Muchowski got a pass from Melissa Rooney and found the back of the net again for a 2-0 edge.
Lawrence piled up 20 shots, compared to seven for Knox (3-8-0, 0-4-0).
Lawrence goalkeeper Dani Glass picked up the shutout with five saves. Birzer stopped 10 shots for the Prairie Fire.
