APPLETON, Wis. — The Lawrence University men’s soccer team scored a pair of first-half goals and rode that to a 2-1 nonconference win over UW-Superior on Saturday at Whiting Field West.
Cameron Pieper and Santiago Alvarez scored for Lawrence, and Robert Desotelle picked up a pair of assists in the season finale for the Vikings (4-11-3).
Lawrence struck first when Pieper rocketed a ball past Superior goalkeeper Matt Elder at the 33:04 mark. Both Desotelle and Sodai Ishii picked up assists on that goal.
Aropo Ojuli tied it at 1-1 for Superior (9-9-1) when he scored at the 38:34 mark.
Lawrence then took the lead back for good when Alvarez scored at 42:18 off assists from Erik Soderlund and Desotelle.
Joe Krivit made three saves to pick up the win for Lawrence. Elder stopped four shots for the Yellowjackets.
