ADRIAN, Mich. — Top-ranked Adrian College skated to a 5-1 Northern Collegiate Hockey Association victory over Lawrence University on Saturday at Arrington Arena.
Jeremy Olinyk scored twice for the Bulldogs (17-2-1, 13-2-1 NCHA), who picked up three goals on special teams. Adrian went 2-for-8 on the power play and added a short-handed goal.
Dillon Kelley made 21 saves to pick up the win for Adrian. Freshman netminder Greg Procopio stopped 30 shots for the Vikings (6-12-1, 5-8-1).
Adrian scored a pair of first-period power-play goals, including one with just three seconds left, for a 2-0 edge after one. Olinyk made it 3-0 on a goal just 3:16 into the second period, and he picked up a short-hander at the 10:41 mark of the second for a 4-0 lead.
The Bulldogs led 5-0 when Lawrence’s Ryan Robertson scored his first career goal at the 12:57 mark of the third. The junior defenseman scored off assists from Jake Roeper and Josh Koepplinger.
