GREEN BAY, Wis. — Lawrence University’s Josh Janusiak took third place Saturday to pace the Vikings’ cross country teams at the Tom Barry Invitational.
Janusiak covered the four-mile course at Colburn Park in 20:54.7, and that helped Lawrence finish fourth in the team standings with 90 points. Lake Forest’s College Alanda Christian won the event in 20:45.8, and the Foresters took the team title with 49 points.
Rookie Joe Kortenhof had a great first career race as he took 11th in 21:40.7. Ethan Gniot grabbed 20th place in 22:06.0, and Mik Patel was 26th (22:30.6) and Alec Timpe was 30th (22:40.1) to round out the scoring.
On the women’s side, the Vikings finished fifth with 133 points and Erin Schrobilgen led the way. Schrobilgen was 12th and covered the 5,000-meter course in 19:59.5. The rest of the Vikings’ scorers were tightly bunched as Hannah Kinzer took 26th (21:00.7), Margaret Huck was 29th (21:10.9), Christina Sedall was 30th (21:20.9) and Molly Doruska was 36th (21:40.8).
St. Norbert College won the team title with 23 points, and St. Scholastica’s Casey Hovland took the individual title with a time of 17:51.2.
